Eva lived most of her life in Mansfield. She was very proud of her lilac tree and was passionate about her shoes as a girl could never have too many pairs of shoes. She was a very happy and cheerful lady who always had to be active even making an appearance on the Johnny Carson show. She met her husband and father of her children, Ralph Bowie, in Philadelphia. It was love at first sight for him and they enjoyed 30 years together before his death. Love found Eva again when she met Dick Wendland at the Veterans Club and they enjoyed 30 years together before his death.
She is survived by her children, Darlene (Johnny) VanHarlingen, Brenda Ireland, Ellen (Allan) Mitchell, Michael Bowie and Joseph (Denise) Bowie; 12 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Christie Bowie; and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Bowie and Dick Wendland; a grandson; and three siblings.
The family would like to extend a thank you to Arbors at Mifflin for their exceptional care.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.
