

Evelyn M. Kelley Lewis, 69, of Mansfield, died early Monday morning, March 1, 2004, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a 10-year battle with kidney disease. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 23, 1934, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Roy E. and Dorothy Lee Kelley. Evelyn retired after 34 years of service as an operator at United Telephone Company/Sprint, where she served as past Union President. She was a lifelong resident of Ontario and a 1952 graduate of Ontario High School. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church and the Independent Pioneer Association.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Lewis, whom she married September 1, 1956; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Steven Knapp and Kelli and Tony Frazee, all of Ontario; three grandchildren, Ashlee, Ciara and Tyler Frazee; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Patricia C. Kelley of Mansfield and Miki and George Truax of Southern Pine, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Ron and Marida Hout and Darla Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two grand-dogs, Matti and Obie, whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Joseph and Clara Lee, and special friends, Edna and Gene Messer and Addie Castle.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Thursday, March 4 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ontario Cemetery following the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
