Ferdinand Frank

Fred grew up in Yugoslavia and came to the United States as a young man. He retired from AK Steel after 37 years. For a hobby, Fred became a TV and radio repairman. He loved organic gardening and he would can and freeze the produce he grew and looked forward all winter long to starting the garden.

Playing the harmonica was a favorite past time, especially when the family was gathered together, he loved family gatherings. Fred enjoyed meeting with friends at the Liederkranz. He loved his dog Fifi and kept him company in the garden.

Fred is survived by his children, Dennis (Gerri) Frank, Fred (Nancy) Frank, Donald Frank, Tim Frank, Joyce (John) Baumholser, and Diana (Corbett) Wilder; brother and sisters, Joseph (Arin) Frank, Peter Frank, Eva Alamanteoff, and Erika Hatten; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many beloved family and friends.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Magdelina “Leni” (Sigman) Sonnenberg.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
