Frank M. Keller, 85, of Mansfield, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at his home. Born April 20, 1923 in Mansfield, he was the son of Matthew and Catherine Streitmater Keller. He graduated from Madison High School in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Army stationed in the Philippines until 1945. Frank then worked part-time farming with his father, purchasing his own tractor in 1947. He worked at Moritz Concrete from 1949 to 1963, and then went to work for AJ Wiegand Co., where he worked as a truck driver at Empire Detroit hauling coils inside the mill. Frank also had his own work truck and hauled and spread lime for local farmers. He retired in 1985 and always looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren, whom he had respect, appreciation and admiration. He was not without a sense of humor. For instance, after Chuck Whatman called him the "Mayor of Little Washington", he made it a self appointed position. People enjoyed his whimsical responses and reactions to their inquires. He was a member of Little Washington Congregational Church and AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Fulk Keller, whom he married September 17, 1949; son, Timothy Gina Keller of Mansfield; and grandchildren, Cody and Shelbi Keller. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Keller.
