

Frank Wolf, 79, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at Kingston of Ashland after an extended illness. Born November 14, 1933 in Lacarak, Yugoslavia, he was the son of Mathias and Barbara (Zopf) Wolf. As a young man, Frank played semi-professional soccer in Austria. He also played for the Mansfield Liederkranz in the late 1950s. He continued to support the Mansfield Liederkranz soccer club as he rarely missed a game. He worked as a cement mason for Mansfield Cement Flooring and Lexington Cement Flooring. “Blue Eyes” as people called Frank, loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. He enjoyed his koi pond and made it his hobby feeding the fish. Frank also loved to fish, especially at Lake Erie. He was a member of the Mansfield Liederkranz for over 50 years as well as the Senior Dance Group for over 20 years and even helped build the Liederkranz building. Frank also enjoyed his smoke house, making sausage and homemade ham with his friends. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Irmgard (Schwab) Wolf; daughters, Angie (Norm) Dingus and Inge May; son, Erich (Terry) Wolf; grandchildren, Shannon, Shaun, Blake, and Brooke; great grandchildren, Sully, Trinity, and Cadin; sister, Katie Muff; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle, Michael and Magdalena Riegel.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 2, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Father Tom McQuillen. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Liederkranz, Frank Wolf Memorial Fund.
