Gene Daugherty

Gene E. Daugherty, 67, of 671 Weller Ave. died Friday evening, August 18, 2000 at Mifflin Care Center following an extended illness. Mr. Daugherty was born October 5, 1932 in Butler, Ohio living in the Mansfield area all of his life. He was a retired educator from Mansfield City Schools. Mr. Daugherty was a member of Venus Masonic Lodge #152, F. & A.M., and Baku Grotto. He was a lifetime member of the Ohio Retired Teachers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte A. Guiher Daugherty; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ben & Linda Daugherty, Frank & Cheryl Daugherty, and Mike & Carol Daugherty, all of Mansfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Jo & Brian Sublett of Findlay, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Angie, Megan, Melissa, Sara, Laurie, Nick, and Jake; a sister and brother-in-law, Iona & Tony Flores of Bellville; one aunt and uncle; one brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; two nieces; and two nephews.

Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday from 5-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 24, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by The Rev. David S. Sipes, Rector Emeritus. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America.
