George was born May 20, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son of John and Betty (Saults) Van Horn. George attended Shelby High School and Pioneer Vocational School. He proudly served in the United States Army. George could be found enjoying a ride on the motorcycle or fishing. He had a soft spot for animals, especially cats and gave homes to many over the years. In his later years, he enjoyed playing the guitar.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Van Horn; his brother, John Van Horn III; and his uncle, James Saults. He was preceded in death by his father, John Van Horn Jr.; his half-brother, Bill Underwood; and his uncle, Glenn Saults.
Family will receive friends on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 3:00-4:00 pm at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm.
