Gerald Greene

Gerald "Jerry" Greene, 76, of Ontario, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his residence in Ellenton, Florida where he spent the winters. Born July 9, 1934, in Greene, Kentucky, he was the son of Ralph L. and Barbara E. Gillum Greene. He retired from Ideal Electric after 43 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Crestline. He enjoyed farming, tinkering around the house, being outside or busy building something. He had just recently built a Dulcimer and would never pass up an auction or a garage sale.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Whited Greene; three sons, William L. Greene and his fiancé, Kristi Chaplin of Boulder City, Nevada, Michael L. Karin Greene of Bamberg, Germany and Robert L. Rebecca Greene of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jennifer Greene of Bamberg, Germany, Nicole Jeremy Bowman of Waco, Texas and Nyle Greene of Crestline; two step grandchildren, Seth Combs of Upper Sandusky, Ohio and Courtney Combs of Crestline; several step great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph E. Diane Greene of Delaware, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 8, 2011, at Mansfield Memorial Park conducted by Pastor Raymond Linn. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Jerry Greene.
