

Glenn Michael "Mike" Miller, 62, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 27, 2014 at his home after a long illness with ALS. A long time resident of Mount Vernon, Mike was born in Mansfield on February 4, 1952.
He graduated from Madison High School, Class of 1971. Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard the carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA 42. He was previously employed at Mount Vernon Developmental Center. He loved all animals and was always surrounded by a wide variety of pets. Mike was the most generous and caring person "ever" and will be sadly missed by his loving family, friends and pets.
He is survived by his lifelong friend, Steve Bishop; mother, Freda Seamour Koehler; sister, Barbara A. (Doug) Tucker; brother, Danny Miller; nieces, Tiffany Hardin, Traci Fanello and Kristy Darling; nephew, Scott Tucker; nine grand nieces and nephews; and half-brother, Rick Miller. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur G. Miller and step-father, Wayne Koehler.
Private family services will be observed. Military honors will be presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail in a private service at Lantz Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
