
Gregory Allen Catlett, 58, of Mansfield, died Saturday, October 30, 2010, at his residence. Born May 5, 1952, in Mansfield, he was the son of Robert and Ruth Smith Catlett. He was employed as the General Manager at VASU Communications and had a real passion for his job. He started working with 2 way radios at the age of 15 and enjoyed maintaining public safety communications. Greg also enjoyed golfing, was a member of the Amvets Post 26 and was in a band called Long Overdue.
Surviving are a son, Daniel Ashlee Catlett of Mansfield; his mother, Ruth Catlett Clark of Georgia; brothers, Jim Mary Catlett of Mansfield and Doug Patty Catlett of Georgia; sister, Suesan Terry Patton of Texas; several nieces and nephews; his extended family, Deb Catlett of Mansfield, Charles and Shirley Zents of Crestline and Diane and Wayne Ward of Mansfield; special friends, Tom and Deb Bellamy of SC, Sue Popke of Sandusky and Paul and Deb Black of Bolivar, OH. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Catlett; and a son, Joshua Catlett.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd, Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2010 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Richard Beal. Burial will follow in Springmill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the American Cancer Society or the Badge of Honor Memorial Fund.
