

Guy 'Skip' F. Boyd, 57, of Mansfield, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 6, 1947, in Paintsville, Kentucky, he was the son of Earl & Myrtle Ward Boyd. Skip moved to Mansfield with his family at the age of 4. He was CEO of Service Taxi and Yellow Cab. During his 25-year tenure, he served on the Advisory Board for RTC Richland County Transit and was a member of the International Taxi Cab Association and Ohio State Taxi Cab Association. He was Past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #336, member of Moose Lodge #341 and Owl's Home Lodge. He also served as Richland County Democratic Prescient Committeeman.
Skip is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Misty Dawn Boyd and Troy Miller; one grandson-the joy of his life-Lance Adam Miller; brother and sister-in-law, Mose K. and Edna Boyd; sister, Dolores J. Scott; sister-in-law, Judy Boyd; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Donnie and Karen Swinford, Terry Bradshaw, Dottie Vaughn, and Crystal Boyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Myrtle Boyd and brothers, Earl Boyd Jr. and James M. Boyd.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, April 5 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services officiated by Rev. Doyle Peyton will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with additional calling from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Lantz Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Democratic Party Headquarters.
