

Harold E. 'Gene' Hall, 74, of Mansfield, died September 10, 2004 at his home. He passed away surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous 8-month battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by everyone-especially his wife of 51 years, his children and grandchildren, to whom he devoted his life. He was born October 1, 1929, in Warnick, Kentucky, to Ellis and Ollie Allen Hall, he was a Mansfield area resident since 1958. Gene retired February 1, 1998 after 40 ½ years of service with General Motors. He loved taking pictures, being outdoors and bird watching, remodeling and traveling.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jeannette J. Pruitt Hall; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Christin Hall of Katy, Texas and Gregory L. and Marcia Hall of Ontario; a daughter, Brenda Hall Gregory and her fiancé, Mike O'Higgins; seven grandchildren, Shannon Kisling, Stephanie and Casey Hall, Brittany and Ryan Gregory, Tyler and Trevor Hall; three great-grandchildren, Walker, Gavin and Alexander; two step grandchildren, Sheila Sallee and Mike Porter, Jr.; five step great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nancy and Gerald Evans of Minford, Shirley Conley of West Portsmouth, and Juanita and Gary Scott of Galloway; a brother, Gary Hall of Massachusetts; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Hall.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, September 13 from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Bruce Copley. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
