Harry Winfrey

Harry H. Winfrey, age 85, passed away late Monday evening, August 13, 2012 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born February 13, 1927 in West Virginia to the late Douglas P. and Virginia (Wickline) Winfrey. Harry was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during WWII. He retired from Amerascrew where he worked as a press operator. In his spare time, Harry enjoyed walking, biking, gardening and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie (Hall) Winfrey; two sons, Harry (Teresa) Winfrey of Bellville and Gary D. Winfrey of Lexington; three daughters, Juda (Sam) Austin, Linda Sue Cope and Kimberly (Roger) Shaw, all of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Bobby Cope, Kerry Winfrey, Alexander Winfrey, Chase Winfrey, Rockie Mounts and Teri Winfrey; one great-grandchild, Stevie Mounts; a brother, Howard (Thelma) Winfrey of WV; a sister, Birdie Van Stavern of WV; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Windsor Park Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mr. Winfrey.
