Herbert G. Arnold, 84, of Mansfield, went home to be with his true love, Gerrie on October 18, 2015. Born October 31, 1930 in Elizabeth, West Virginia, he was the son of Dewey and Grace (Caltrider) Arnold. Herbert moved to the Mansfield area when he was 12 years old. An Army veteran, he served in England during the Korean War. Upon returning home, Herbert's dedicated work ethic was shown to others as he was a home builder by day and a tire builder at Mansfield Tire by night. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, caring for the animals on his mini farm, and tinkering around on his land. For years, he and his friends would take a yearly trip to Idaho to hunt. After the closing of Mansfield Tire, Herbert worked for Spitzer and continued building homes.
Surviving are his children, Debra (Ken) Brenner, Randal Arnold, and Steven (Diane) Arnold; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law.
Along with his parents, Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Geraldine Norma Arnold; sisters, Virginia Erwin and Wilma Ramsey; brothers, Dewey, Harold, Willis, and Edwin Arnold; nephew, Tim Arnold; great-niece, Callie Arnold; niece, Cynthia Herold; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
