Homer Jarrell, 78, of Mansfield died Sunday afternoon, June 23, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Jarrell was born March 17, 1924 in Radnor, West Virginia and was an area resident for the last 44 years. He was a veteran of the US Army. Homer enjoyed sports and was a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Faye Jarrell of Mansfield; a brother-in-law, Lovell Stallard of Crestline; a special aunt, Ellen Kidd; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Willard and Essie Gilliam Jarrell; two brothers, Mont and Emanuel Jarrell; and two sisters, Jocie Stallard and June Risner.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Tuesday, June 25 from 7-9 p.m. Military graveside services will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park and will be conducted by Rev. Ted Risner. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
