Humberto S. Martinez, 81, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born March 27, 1942 in Bishop, Texas, he was the son of Andres and Maria Del Refugio Sandoval Martinez.
He was an incredibly hard working provider for his family who selflessly accepted his responsibilities by developing many skills. He started as a Barber then went on to be long haul driver, Deputy Sherriff and then a supervisor before retiring. He loved to tell jokes and laugh, watch old Western movies, play cards and board games, have BBQ’s and listen to his Mexican music. He also loved visiting with extended family and friends, but most of all, it was the joy he received from knowing his children were happy and succeeding in their lives.
He was the beloved father to Patricia (Guy) Rausch, Humberto Jr., Yvette Marie and Michael Martenez; and proud grandfather to Gina ( Brita) Azlin, Matthew Rausch, Jennifer (Leo) Prince, Laura (Joshua) Bivens, Lisa (Richard Jr.) George, Eric Martinez, Ryan Johnson and Nicholas (Kelsey) Martinez. He absolutely adored his great grandchildren, Maria and Alivia Herrera, Luca Mae Azlin, Zell Kouns, Rinoa Rausch, Zoey and Adelyn Prince, McKensi, Miranda, Joshua Jr. and Isabella Bivens, Breanna, Kayden, Zoey, Jamie, Henry George and Rye Martinez. He held a special place in his heart for his nephews Santiago (Rita) and Jamie Cardenas as well as many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Flores; a son, Edward Flores; a daughter, Myrta Alicia; brothers, Alonzo and Candelario Martinez; sister, Ida Vaughan; and great grandchild, Chevy Geaorge.
