
Jack W. Jacobs, 71, of Mansfield, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. Born April 11, 1935 in Mansfield, he was the son of Chauncy W. and Betty Teschler Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Ohio State Reformatory as a guard. Mr. Jacobs was a member of the American Legion Post #16, Moose Lodge #341, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Mansfield Chapter B Gold Wing, Ashland Chapter V Gold Wing, and Frank H. Marquis Lodge #690 F & A.M.
He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Jacobs; two brothers, Rick and Cheryl Jacobs and family, and Terry and Margie Jacobs and family, both of Mansfield; nephew, Terry 'Allen' Jacobs, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Debby Armstrong of Mansfield; daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, Randi and Damian Vercillo of Ashland; son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Denny and Kathleen Lugthart of Texas; grandchildren, Jeff and Robin Barrett of Mansfield, Berry and Lisa Rodeheffer of Union City, Ohio, Dominic Vercillo of Ashland, and Brandi and Lindsey Lugthart of Texas; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Micki Jacobs; and wife, Jewell C. Jacobs.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Rev. Charlie Tobias. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
