

Jack was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, and obtained his bachelor of education from the University of Toledo. A star athlete, Jack played football and participated on the track team while in school. His athletic abilities earned him a full scholarship to the University of Toledo. Jack was a 2nd Lieutenant stationed in Germany in the United States Army. He was employed at Mansfield City School for over 30 years. After retirement, he was employed in the mail room and print shop at Ashland University. Jack was on the first Ski Patrol at Snow Trails. Jack's love for sports drove him to be actively involved on the Mansfield Mehock Relays Committee for well over 50 years, and was involved with the Varsity "T" Club with the University of Toledo. He was a member of the First Congregational Church.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Shirley Wise of Mansfield; daughter, Wendy (Bryan) Lippus of Sandusky; son, Todd (Barbara) Wise of Lexington; grandchildren, Grant and Emma Wise; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Charles Wise.
Rev. Bruce Haapalainen will officiate a graveside service at Mansfield Memorial Park on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Jack's honor to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Wise family.
