
James U. Lambert, 78, of Mansfield, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 6, 2010 at his home. Born February 4, 1932 in Smokey Valley, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Emma Lawhorn and Walter Lambert. James was formerly employed with the City of Mansfield in the sanitation department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. James attended Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, fishing, camping and being outdoors.
He is survived by three sons, Tim Lambert, Walter Lambert and Steve Lambert, all of Mansfield; daughter, Carol Brian Stewart of Mansfield; grandchildren, Ryan Stewart, Cassie Stewart and Noah Lambert; great-grandchildren, Caden and Mason Stewart; brothers, Louie Reba Lambert and Arcus Altheda Lambert, of Mansfield; sisters, Thelma Lloyd Abrams, Sadie Fife, Frances Stevens and Jean Barker, all of Mansfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friend, Garnett Lambert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Louella in 1998.
Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services conducted by Pastor Travis McKenzie will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with additional visitation from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
