

James E. Murray, 70, of Bellville, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016, at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born January 9, 1946, in Marion, Ohio, to the late Everett and Ruth (Shaw) Murray and grew up in the Edison/Mount Gilead area. Jim graduated from Mount Gilead High School.
Jim worked for many years in Information Technology and after retirement, started his own business-Jim Murray Motors. He faithfully served as a member and deacon of Woodville Grace Brethren Church. An extremely selfless man, he never met a stranger. His top priorities were faith and family, and he lived every moment of his life with that in mind. Jim was an avid hunter and sportsman. He loved his dogs, his devoted English setters.
Jim married the love of his life, Barb Walters, on December 2, 1976, and they shared 39 years of devotion. He is also survived by two daughters, Tara (Rob) Almony and Tracy (Jason) Montgomery; four grandsons, Peyton, JJ, Dylan and Cameron; three brothers, Roger Murray, Dean Murray and Richard (Carol) Murray; a sister-in-law, Barb Walters; several nieces and nephews; and his entire church family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Don Walters.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, February 5, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, February 6 from 10 a.m - 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home followed by the service at noon. Pastor Ron Smals will conduct the service. Private burial will be held at Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodville Grace Brethren Church.
