

Janalee "Jan" A. Frost, 89, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born April 15, 1929, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Arthur L. and Minerva A. (Smith) Dunham.
Jan graduated from Madison High School in 1947. She married the love of her life, Leonard "Fred" Frost on June 17, 1950 and was a homemaker her entire life. She loved her family and enjoyed many trips to visit her children after they were grown and her Coach trips where she made many friends. Jan loved being a homemaker, sewing, gardening, growing beautiful violets and reading. She was an active member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church for many years, and participated in a multitude of activities over the years. Giving to others was second nature to Jan and she lovingly and willingly assisted wherever she was needed.
In addition to being a full time homemaker, she worked in the clerical departments at Haserot Company in Cleveland and at the main office of Ohio Brass. Jan was a member of Windy Knoll Garden Club, Harpcrest Community Center. She was a mentor with the Ohio Reads Program at Wooster Heights School for six years. She was also a poll worker for Richland County at the Madison district for 21 years.
Jan is survived by four daughters, Holly Haymaker of Ontario, Dianne (Lee) Owens of Ashland, Penny (Rick) Tamburrino of Mansfield, and Amy (Bob) Solon of Independence, IA; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Leonard "Fred" Frost in January 2000; a sister, Mary L. Long; and two sons-in-law, Ed Eckstein and Mark Haymaker.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with her son-in-law, Rev. Robert Solon and Pastor Bonnie Peltomaa officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions honoring Jan's giving spirit may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
