Janet L. Bowman, 88, of Ashland, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Liberty Nursing Center of Mansfield. Born December 9, 1921 in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John E. and Mary McCrea Shields. Janet loved her family and enjoyed reading, and hook rugs.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Lee and John R. Stutz, and Sally S. and Marty R. McDermott, all of Ashland; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Mertz of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul H. Bowman; son, Carl E. Bowman; two brothers, Larry and Donald Spicer; and grandson, Dennis F. Rock.
No services will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Janet L. Bowman.
