

Jeffrey “Jeff” L. Brooks, 42, of Mansfield, died Monday, July 16, 2012 at Medina General Hospital. He was born November 2, 1969 in Mansfield. Jeff worked as a restaurant manager and enjoyed fishing. He liked watching football and basketball, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. Jeff always had to make sure somebody was smiling, no matter what the cost. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children.
He is survived by his wife, Dwana (Adams) Brooks of Mansfield; children, Deshawna, Tarence, Saphire, and Dallas, all at home; sisters, Juanita Brooks and Eileen Brooks, both of Mansfield; brother, Harry Brooks of Mansfield; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Donna Renner; mother-in-law, Carolyn Adams; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Leon) Adams and Jodanna Anderson; brother-in-law, Daryel (Billie) Adams; and many close friends who were like brothers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Brooks; parents, Rev. Dozier Rutledge and Miss Mary Rutledge; father-in-law, Darrell P. Cansler; sister-in-law, Denice D. Clayton-Adams; a special niece Autumn; and Travis Harris, a friend who he cherished as a brother.
Friends may call Monday, July 23, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The family requests those attending the viewing to wear Dallas Cowboy Attire or anything of Dallas colors. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Captain Marcus Jugenheimer. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. After the burial, a meal will be provided at the Salvation Army. The family will also receive friends and family from now till the day of the service at 141 S. Adams St. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family at the funeral home.
