
Jerry Ray ''Jay Bird'' Lykins, 59, of 854 Fairfax Ave. died unexpectedly Sunday morning, November 25, 2001 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Lykins was born October 6, 1942 in Olive Hill, Kentucky living in the Mansfield area most of his life. He retired from National Seating after 15 years. Mr. Lykins enjoyed animals, hunting, fishing and his CB radio.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Lawhorn Lykins of Mansfield; four daughters and sons-in-law, Lois Lowe & Rick Lowe and Mary Lott & Bill Lott, all of Mansfield, Nina & Dino Parrella of Lexington and Brenda & Brian Castle of Galion; a son, Jerry Ray Lykins of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren, Maria, Dino, Dustin, Josie, Chet, Jami, William, Justin, Stephen, Kali, Dekota Ray; two brothers and a sister-in-law, William D. Lykins and Jack & Ruth Lykins, all of Mansfield; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Garnett & Paul Mabry of Grayson, Kentucky, Thelma & Paul Shears and Marjorie & Fred Winkleman, all of Mansfield, and Jewel Burchett of Butler, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James & Gertrude Caudill Lykins; and a daughter, Marjorie Lynn Lykins.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastors Arthur Lowe and Perry Bradford. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
