

John A. Bauer, 91, of Crestline, died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 at his home. Born May 8, 1914 in Mansfield, he was the son of George and Elizabeth Schuff Bauer. He was a retired farmer and also retired from Westinghouse after forty-four years of service. Mr. Bauer was a member of the Berean Baptist Church, the Hobby Club, and Westinghouse Retiree Club.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Reene Curry of Springfield, Virginia; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Fred Sharp of Crestline; five grandchildren, Robert Curry, Jr., Michael Curry, Mishelle Curry Cavanagh, Tricia Schnitzer Keever her husband, Wayne, and Lisa Curry-Teague; five great grandchildren, Robbie Curry, Samantha Cavanagh, Taylor Cavanagh, Stephani Curry, and Gavin Keever; one sister, Elizabeth Miller of Seville; one sisters-in-law, Wilma Secrist of Mansfield; and special cousin, Esther Sheperson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith Pitcher Curry Bauer; and two brothers, William and Adam Bauer.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2005 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Health Care Matters.
