Joseph Worley

Joseph L. Worley, 83 of Mansfield died February 7, 2000 at Mifflin Care Center following a brief  illness.  Mr. Worley was born March 14, 1916 in Williamsburg, Kentucky residing in the Mansfield area for the past 50 years.  He retired from Mansfield City School as Head Custodian at John Simpson Middle School after 23 years of service.  Mr. Worley was a member of Lincoln Heights Baptist Church where he was a charter member, former Deacon and former director of music. Surviving are his wife, Zada 'Jackie' Worley of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn  and Lyla Worley of Mansfield; four grandchildren and their spouses, Rebecca and Tom Keith of Burke, Virginia; Linda and Mike Carrocci of Sunbury, Ohio; Sharon and Mark Scheurer of Mansfield; and Alan and Joni Worley of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Laura Lay Worley; one son, Robert Worley; three sisters, Grace Wilson; Josie Roberts; and Basell Worley; and three brothers, Ivan, James and Everett Worley. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Johnny W. Collett.  Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Baptist Church.
