Katharina Hass, 77, of Mansfield, died late Monday evening, March 3, 2008 at Crystal Care Center. Born December 23, 1930 in Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Katharina Geibel Schmidt. An area homemaker most of her life, she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Katharina enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking and was a former member of the Mansfield Liederkranz.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Karl H. Hass and daughter, Karla Hass of Brook Park. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Jacoby.
Friends may call from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
