Kathryn “Kathy” Etta Kleilein, 86, of Lucas, passed away at her son’s home, Friday morning, December 5, 2025. Kathy was born January 29, 1939, in Guernsey County to Eric and Hester (McLaughlin) Vogt. She graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1956. Kathy married her beloved husband, Leonard Kleilein, on October 6, 1963. They enjoyed fifty-six years of marriage before he passed away on February 15, 2020.
Kathryn loved the Lord and took comfort in reading her Bible. Len and Kathryn were devout members of Berean Baptist Church where Kathy was a Mentor Mom in the MOPs program. She always shared the gospel with others and was part of the evangelical outreach program as well. Kathy was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare homemade meals for her family. She was a devoted wife with a kind and generous heart. Kathy was always supportive of her family and Leonard’s many endeavors. She always kept herself busy and was so hospitable. She enjoyed horses and spent her free time reading.
Kathryn had many jobs throughout her working life including Richland County ASCS, Roadway Materials, L. E. Kleilein Construction, Anthony Wayne Schools, and ultimately retiring from Richland County Water Treatment.
Kathryn is survived by her son, John (April) Kleilein of Lucas, OH; grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, and Emily; son, Larry (Ann) Kleilein of Delaware, OH; grandson, Lane (Marissa) Kleilein; great-granddaughter, Mia; grandson, Luke (Hanna) Kleilein; stepson, Russell (Bev) Kleilein; stepdaughters, Carolyn Null and Patty (David) Friddell; her dear sister, Carol Nemeth formerly of Brownstown, MI, who she was very close to; as well as numerous other grandchildren and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; her three brothers, Donald Vogt, Ronald “Ronny” Vogt, and Lester Vogt; and her parents.
Friends and family will gather for visitation Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Craig Hamm officiating. A meal will be served following the service at Berean Baptist Church located at 2145 Middle Bellville Rd, Mansfield. Kathy will be laid to rest at Ontario Cemetery at a later date.
