

Kelvin Lee Kester, 59, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away & entered his eternal home on January 3, 2019 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Kelvin was born August 26, 1959 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and lived many years in Michigan.
Surviving Kelvin are his four children, Cameron (Andrea) Kester of Fairborn, Ohio, Seth (Sarah) Kester of Oxford, MI, Kirstin (Adam) Zeleney of Northport, AL and Marissa Kester of Lake Orion, MI, five grandchildren, Aiden & Madison Kester, Gage and Griffin Zeleney, Brooks Kester, and step grandfather to Christian, Nick & Dylan Moore and Joshua Mackey. Also surviving is his mother, Donna Vernon Kester of Euclid, Ohio, sister, Kim (Richard) Albanese of Euclid, Ohio, brother, Keith (Cindy) Kester of Fort Thomas, KY, several nieces and nephews, special cousins Jeff & Sue Hyde of Mannington, WV and Gail & Karen Davisson of Greeneville, TN, and special friend & companion to Kelvin, Lorie Diehm of Ashland, Ohio. Preceding Kelvin in death was his father, Harold L. Kester, in 2015.
Kelvin is a graduate of Euclid High School and the University of Valley Forge, Phoenixville, PA. He was employed at Embrace Pet Insurance, staff members of which the family remains forever grateful for their incredible support of Kelvin during his battle. Kelvin loved the time he lived in Michigan with Michigan State and the University of Michigan being his favorite football teams, and was a loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed the outdoors and was thrilled at the opportunity to make a “bucket list” trip to Montana with his sons this past summer. His infectious laugh, smile and sense of humor were most memorable as was his kind heart.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of LifeCare Hospice in Wooster for their exceptional care for Kelvin and the family. In accordance with Kelvin’s wishes, no public calling hours will be observed. The Wappner Cremation Center, Mansfield, Ohio, is serving the Kester family.
