Kristine Hill

Kristine E. (Johns) Hill, 53, of Durham, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Duke University Hospital. She was born April 19, 1961, in Akron, Ohio and grew up in the Cuyahoga Falls area along with her four sisters.

Kris had the sweetest demeanor and her kind, nurturing ways were felt by all who knew her. She was a proud stay-at-home mom, who showered her children and husband with love and nurtured their spirits with her overwhelming joy and God's love. Kris enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was so attentive and giving of her time to her children. Whatever their hobbies or events were, Kris was there to share in the memories. In her spare time, she enjoyed chronicling life's special and funny moments through scrap booking.

Kris was active in her church, teaching Sunday school and preparing special church dinners. She had the ability to make everyone around her at ease and the loss of her will be deeply felt.

She is survived by her husband of 31 1/2 years, Dan Hill; two children, Alexis and Nick (April) Hill; father, Ray Johns; four sisters, Kathy Martin, Karen Drungil, Karla DePaoli and Kim Martin; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Messet Johns.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, in Berean Baptist Church, 2145 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield. Pastor James Berry will conduct the service. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
