L. Jane Armstrong

L. Jane Armstrong, 100, of Mansfield, died May 29, 2014. Born November 10, 1913, she was the daughter of J. Wiley and Mae Thomas. A true homemaker, Jane loved gardening, especially her African Violets, cooking, and sewing. In her free time, she enjoyed a game of Euchre. Jane was very involved in her church and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church in Springfield, Ohio for over 50 years until moving to Mansfield.

Surviving is her son, James H. Armstrong of Mansfield; grandchildren, David (Jody) Armstrong of Huron, Amy (Bill) Newdome of Lexington, Lisa (Ron) McGinnis of New Bloomington, and Todd Taylor of Columbus; great-grandchildren, David, Ava, Mariah, Adam, Rhian, Jillian, Summer, Adam, Megan, and Ryan; and son-in-law, Robert L. Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 74 years, Howard S. Armstrong; daughter, Janet Taylor; two sisters; and two brothers.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Dave Root, will be Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
