Lanny D. Mitchell, age 57, of Mansfield, died Saturday morning, December 25, 2004, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1947, living in Perrysville and Mansfield most of his life. Lanny worked in plumbing and heating and was a veteran of the Air National Guard Reserves.
He is survived by Barb Mitchell; a son and daughter-in-law Lonny Dean and Tammy Mitchell of Mansfield; two stepsons and daughter-in-law, Donald Carns and Tom and Vickie Carns of Mansfield; his mother, Caralou Mitchell of Perrysville; five grandchildren, Hunter Mitchell, Brittany Carns, Brett Angel, Sam Carns and Jessica Carns, all of Mansfield; and two nieces Melisa Swainhart of Lucas and Amy Kuscsik of Perrysville. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean L. Mitchell in August 2002 and a sister, Sharon Ross in April 2001.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, officiated by Dennis Eggerton. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
