Laura was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School, Class of 1974. A dedicated worker, she worked in the Gorman Rupp Business Office in Bellville for many years. Laura had an outgoing personality and enjoyed good conversations. She loved people and had a beautiful, contagious smile. She dearly loved her dogs, Indie and Angus and her Cockatoo. She loved all animals, and in her later years just enjoyed being at home.
Laura is survived by her sons, Michael Wagner and David Wagner; grandsons, James Wagner and Ashton Wagner; sister Brenda (Reggie) Pfeifer, brothers Robert (Megan) Wagner and Carl Wagner, many nieces and nephews; many cousins and other relatives; and her good friend Theresa Sutherland, who was with her through thick and thin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl (Janice) Wagner; her birth mother, Arlene (Roll) Wagner; her husband Ronald Durfee; and her brother Mathias Wagner.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kingston of Ashland and their staff for their excellent care of Laura and to the Southern Care Hospice team, especially her nurse Ella.
In accordance with Laura’s wishes, the family will host a private celebration of her life at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to Richland County Humane Society, 3025 Park Ave W, Ontario, OH 44906.
