Lola Williams

Lola J. Williams, 83, of Mansfield, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Oak Grove Manor. Born July 27, 1931 in Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of Joseph C. and Rachel (Smith) Holmes. After attending high school, Lola got married and started her family. When she moved to Mansfield, she worked at Independent Towel Company for many years. Later Lola worked at Woodlawn Nursing Home until she became ill. She loved putting together puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Belinda (Kenneth) Smith, Vicky (Robert) Matteo, and James Williams; grandchildren, Nukuma Williams, Brian Williams, Candy Williams, Lucas Williams, and Kenneth "BJ" Smith; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Holmes.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Rickie Daniel Williams; sister, Dorothy Gunter; and brothers, Basil Holmes, William E. Holmes, and Delbert Rush Holmes.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Matthew Pond at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
