Malvern “Butch” Partin, 78, of Mansfield passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024. The oldest of seven children, he was born August 15, 1945 to Bernard and Virginia Partin. Butch graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1963. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in October of 1963, serving his country for four years, 14 months being in Okinawa, Japan. He worked for United Telephone for 43 years. Butch married Sandra Howdyshell on July 22, 1965. They just celebrated their 59th anniversary. He loved golfing, fishing in Canada with his father-in-law, taking care of his home yard work, playing cards, and being around family.
Butch is survived by his 100 year old mother, Virginia; wife, Sandra Partin; two children, Rodney Eugene (Cathy) Partin, and Melonie “Missy” (Brian) Sprunger; three grandchildren, Megan Partin, Maren Partin, and Taylor Sprunger; one great-grandchild, Reagan; siblings, Bernie (Pam) Partin, Janet (Ed) Arlen, Shirley (Dave) Anable, Sandy Whisler, Carolyn (Marv) Bennett, and Greg (Tina) Partin; in-laws, Donna Horsman, Barbara (Bill) Wilson, and Thomas Howdyshell (Julie Perman); many nieces and nephews; best friend, Mark Patterson; and friend, Keith Dawson. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernard Partin.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
