
Margaret Jane Hall Harrison, 92, of Mansfield, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Winchester Terrace. Born July 22, 1918 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of George and Margaret Hill Hall. At the age of 3, Margaret moved to Baltimore where she graduated from Western High School in 1935 and also attended Goucher College. In 1937, she moved to Mansfield and graduated from Wooster College where she majored in French and minored in History and Art. She worked at Westinghouse as an executive secretary before becoming a secretary at Hartman Electric for Richard Harrison, with whom she fell in love. In 1947 Margaret and Richard were married at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church and in 1949 they built their home on S. Brookwood Way, where they lived together for 55 years. Margaret was a member of P.E.O, First Church of Christ Scientist, and the Women's Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Harrison of Mansfield, Jane Harrison and her friend, Bob Arney of Cambridge, MA, and Leigh Mark Jenkins of Keene, NH; grandchildren, Lisa Anthony Duckworth of Lexington, Elizabeth Pfizenmayer of Charleston, SC, Emily Jeremy Bastian of Plymouth, Michigan, and Benjamin Jenkins of Garden City, MI; great grandchildren, Rebecca and Tyler Duckworth; brother-in-law, John W. Harrison of Palo Alto, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard L. Harrison, and a brother, George L. Hall.
A private family memorial service will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario, conducted by Henry Koenig. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist or Raemelton Equestrian Therapeutic Center.
