

Marilyn Jane Baumann, 81, of Mansfield, passed away Monday morning, December 18, 2017, at OhioHealth Ontario Emergency Room. She was born November 17, 1936, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Cleveland Claydean Teeter and Fay Amanda (Olemacher) Teeter.
She graduated in 1954 from Madison High School and worked at Gateway Transportation and Crowe's Shoe Store, where she was as a bookkeeper for many years. She was very happy to be considered a career-woman when it wasn't so popular and enjoyed working later in her life. Marilyn was artistic and creative. She had an insatiable sweet tooth and loved flavored coffee drinks. She enjoyed reading mysteries and historical romances, traveling and was an avid card player.
Her family was most important to her, and Marilyn was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. She served as a PTA leader in her younger years and entertained her grandchildren in her later years. Marilyn was a lifelong member of the Bellville Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine and Order of the Amaranth. She was a member of First Christian Church where she was a Deacon and Bible School teacher and later at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Melissa (Loic) Baumann DeJardin of Cincinnati, OH, John Baumann of Old Fort, NC, Jeffery (Kathie) Baumann of Delaware, OH, and James (Lora) Baumann of Jaynesville, WI; eight grandchildren, Meredith, Madeleine, Wyatt, Christina, Noah, Clara, Amelia and Will; and four nieces and nephews, Steven Them, Karl Them, Beth Them and Lisa Them. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Johann "John" Baumann; a sister, Elizabeth Them; and a nephew, Dean Them.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service conducted by Rev. Gregory Bibler will follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
