
Marjorie J. Devers, 84, of Mansfield, died Saturday afternoon, January 8, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born May 25, 1920, in New Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Willard and Fern Kimmel Arnold. She graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1938. She retired from Ohio Edison in 1978 after 31 years of service. Marjorie was a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church, and Ruth Chapter #17, Order of the Eastern Star. She was supportive of her nieces and nephew in their pursuit of higher education.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Lou Baio of Dover and Janice Henry of Rocky River; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dr. Charles and Nadji Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Ivan Devers on September 21, 1959; and two half-brothers.
Funeral services conducted by Rev. Christopher Thomas will be held Wednesday, January 19 at 12:00 p.m. at Diamond Hills Baptist Church, 647 S. Diamond St. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Diamond Hills Baptist Church or Apostolic Christian Church.
