Mary Petitt

Mary E. Petitt, 66, of Mansfield died Thursday evening, October 24, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Petitt was born June 29, 1936 in Somerset, Ohio to Rev. Clifford H. and Myrtle M. Wyskiver McCabe. She was a homemaker and area resident since 1953. Mary attended Apostolic Christian Life Church and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, and her birds. She was a sweet, loving angel who was the rock for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Billy Joe Petitt whom she married August 14, 1954; two sons, 'Bobby' Petitt and, Judy of Mansfield and Mark and his wife, Victoria Petitt of Asheville, North Carolina; one daughter, Dianna and Thomas Vance of Mansfield; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosetta and Kelly Angel of Canton, Ohio and Goldie and Curtis Bacon of Georgia; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Clifford McCabe of Mansfield and Johnny and Charlotte McCabe of Canton, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Myrtle McCabe and sister, Audrey Riffle.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, October 27 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Pastor Mark Meyer, Sr. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
