
Mary E. Rogers, 74, of Ashland, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Hospice House in Ashland. Born April 28, 1933, in Ashland County, she was the daughter of Wayne R. and Lera R. Flickinger Fox. Mary was co-owner along with her husband, Earl, of Rogers Tractor Sales for 31 years. She also worked part-time for Porters Power Equipment as a bookkeeper and for the Ashland County Building as a switchboard operator. Mary also clerked sales for Kirt Ekey Auctioneers. She was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church, the Northern Ohio Draft Pony Club, the American Haflinger Association and was a committee worker for the Ashland County Fair Draft Horse Association.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Briggs of Ashland, Diane Jeff Guglielmi of Grove City and Sandra Jim Samples of Frametown, WV; two sons, Dan Tyson of Norwalk and Dennis Tyson and his life partner, Bruce Neveau of Coral Springs, FL; 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Marge Gaylord Elson of Ashland; a brother, David Fox of Ashland; a sister-in-law, Nancy Fox of Elyria; several nieces and nephews; and her former husband, George R. Tyson of Jeromesville. She was married May 8, 1971 to Earl E. Rogers who preceded her in death on February 18, 1998; her parents; a great granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Dull; and a brother, Robert Fox in April of 1999.
Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2007, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. John Guliano. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or to Savannah United Methodist Church.
