
Maxwell Earl Gardner, 88, of Ashland, died Thursday, February 02, 2006, at Good Shepherd Home following a brief illness. He was born September 6, 1917 in New London, the son of Earl and Golda Underhill Gardner. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Gardner was the owner of Ashland Graphic Arts until his retirement in 1998 and prior to that he was employed at A.L. Garber Company. He was an avid supporter of the Republican Party and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Dianne Marie Dreyer of Haslett, MI and Yvette Maxine Gardner of Columbus, OH; one son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Maxwell and Cynthia Gardner of Ashland; a grandson, Vito Peraino of Haslett, MI; a sister, Avis Glencoe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Marie Lisius Gardner; and one sister, Virginia Laughery.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Monday, February 6, 2006, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery where full military services will be conducted by the Ashland County Joint Veterans Council. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Monday.
