

Melva Ruth Kemp, 91, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015, in Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born April 14, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of seven children of the late Michael and Ottilia (Olson) Zemrock.
Melva retired from Roger Au Contractors where she was the bookkeeper. She was a long-time member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
An avid reader and main baker for the family, she was a wonderful example of unconditional love and kindness. Known affectionately as "GiGi" by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was treasured by all her family. Melva was the best wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could ever have.
She is survived by a son, Randy (Sharon) Kemp of Mansfield; daughter, Renee (Scott) Biorseth of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Melanie (Kevin) Yale of New Jersey, Melissa (Jason) Koob of California, Mandy (Zoltan) Szasz-Benedek of Mansfield, Jeffrey (Melanie) Frasz of Chippewa Lake, Ohio, Jonathan (Elaine) Frasz and Amanda (Aaron) Gobble, both of Mansfield; and eleven great-grandchildren, Caden and Reagan Yale, Mikayla and Liam Koob, Alysia Szasz-Benedek, Isabella and Alexander Frasz, Danielle and Samantha Frasz and Brooklyn and Gavin Gobble. Melva is also survived by a sister, Joyce (Tom) Krug of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Louella (Cecil) Burton of Mansfield, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd A. Kemp on October 8, 2006; two brothers, Herman and Edward Zemrock; three sisters, Frieda Gayer, Hilda Fairhurst and Margaret Winkler; and son-in-law, Orvy Ernsberger.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
