
Melvin W. Ruby Sr. , 61, died unexpectedly, April 15, 2004, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born October 30, 1942 in Mansfield and had been a lifelong area resident. He was employed by D & S Distribution and was a member of the American Legion Post 16, Sons of Herman, Eagles, Moose Lodge #341, Owls, Amvets Post 26, and the Harley Owners Group. Mel was an avid motorcyclist and NASCAR fan.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Melvin W. Jr. and Kellie Ruby of Centerburg, Oh; a daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Trent Paxton of Bellville, Oh; four grandchildren, Michael Weaver, Mason Ruby, Markie Ruby, and Trenna Paxton; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Vanessa Ruby of Mansfield, Oh; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Clayton Krichbaum of Jeromesville, Oh; four nieces and nephews; mother, Mary Ruby Lewis; special friend, Peg Davis; and Harley and Peanut. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Ruby; and nephew, Mike Krichbaum.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 19, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors conducted by Pastor Jerry Wolleson. Friends may call the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday April 18, 2004, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Franklin Church cemetery.
