Michael Schmidt

Michael R. Schmidt, 43, of Ontario, died Friday afternoon September 16, 2005 at Oak Grove Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness. Michael was born March 21, 1962 in Mansfield, Ohio to Robert F. & Peggy Gibson Schmidt and has lived in the Mansfield area all his life. He graduated from Ontario High School and had worked for AK Steel and most recently for Graybar Electric. Michael was known for his fun loving personality and for having a heart of gold. He also enjoyed Fishing, bowling, woodworking and his tinkering.

Michael is survived by his two sons who were the apple of his eye, Ryan Michael and Adam Brennan Schmidt of Lexington; their mother Julie Schmidt Turner; mother, Peggy Schmidt of Ontario; two sisters and brother-in-law, Connie K. Noble & Cathy J. & Rodney E. Partin all of Mansfield; paternal grandmother, Katherine Schmidt of Mansfield; Nephew, Weston Dick; four nieces, Ashley Dick, Angie Dick, Megan Partin and Maren Partin all of Mansfield; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends; and a special appreciation to Sue Logan for the love & support she gave him. He was preceded in death by his father in 1994; paternal grandfather, Frederick Schmidt; maternal grandparents, Edward D. & Eula Gibson.

Friends may call at the Ontario home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Sunday September 18, 2005 from 7-9 P.M. and also one hour prior to funeral service, which will be held Monday at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Mark Bailey. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
