Mildred Blackledge, 88, of Mansfield died early Monday morning, September 15, 2003 at her home. She was born February 14, 1915 in Athens County, Ohio to Charles and Hattie White Rowan. Mildred was a member of V.F.W. Post #9943 Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Rosa Blackledge of Mansfield; grandchildren, Sveinn and Melanie Petursson, Maria and Jamie Masi, Heidi and Aaron Noe and Richard Blackledge; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Emma, Abigail, Alena, and Matthew; brother, Alton Rowan of Mansfield; and close friends, Leota Roberts and Jean Trammell. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Blackledge; three sisters; and one brother.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, September 17 from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services conducted by Pastor Bruce Copley will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to V.F.W. Post #9943 Ladies Auxiliary Cancer Fund.
