
Oatis E. Pence, 73, died Monday afternoon, December 18, 2000 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born January 29, 1927 to John & Sarah Frazee Pence in Carter County, Kentucky. Mr. Pence was a veteran of WWII serving with the 460th anti-craft Battalion. He retired from General Motors, Elyria Plant.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pearl Ervin Pence, whom he married August 7, 1948; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy & Randy Farst of Lucas, Beverly & Gary Smith of Bellville, Rita & Jim Cushing of Ontario and Shelly & Ed Shambaugh of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Tammy Dudley, Tracey Book, Jason & Jimmy Cushing and Kristen & Katie Shambaugh; four great-grandchildren, Tyler & Randi Book, Dylan Dudley and Jasmine Cushing; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell Pence of Maysville, KY, Edward & Mildred Pence of Cincinnati, OH and James & Laura Pence of Elyria, OH; one sister and brother-in-law, Josephine & Jack Stephens of Aurora, Colorado; one special sister-in-law, Barbara Pence of Mansfield as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, William, Ottis, Rhell and Elbert; four sisters, Sarah, Minnie, Dorothy and Opal.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Thursday, December 21, 2000 one hour prior to the service. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., conducted by Rev.
