
Patricia Louise Goff Swanger, age 79, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Winchester Terrace following an extended illness. Mrs. Swanger was born October 2, 1927 in West Virginia, living in the Mansfield area most of her life. She had been employed at Therm-O-Disc for 10 years. Mrs. Swanger was a member of Little Washington Congregational. She was a 1946 graduate of Mansfield Senior High and a former employee of Tappan Company. Mrs. Swanger was active in earlier years with brownies and cub scouts serving as troop leader and den mother. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting, and family holidays at Lake Mariah and Mohican.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Robert Swanger of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy & Thomas Bechley of Butler; two sons, Dave Swanger of Fredericktown, Ohio and Troy Swanger of Ashland, Ohio; four grandchildren, Donovan Swanger of Shreve, Ohio, Melisa Swanger of Dayton, Ohio, Samantha & Benjamin Bechley both of Butler; a great-grandson, Caden Swanger of Shreve, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Sharon & Theodore Moffett of Florida; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Richard Swanger, Kenneth & Elsie Swanger, Floyd & Erma Swanger and Ronald Swanger; and four sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, Helen Swanger, Nancy & Robert Robinson, Carol & Bob Deems and Betty & William West. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis F. & Alma Sterling Goff; a son, Stephen Swanger; three sisters, June Goff, Josephine Easterline, and Marjorie Werner; and four brothers, Keith, Willis Jr., John & Daniel Goff.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday January 28, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Dean Zellner. Burial will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
