
Paul William Mitchell, 89, of 1841 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield died Monday, June 26, 2000 at Sterling House after an extended illness. Mr. Mitchell was born April 28, 1911 in Lucas, Ohio living in Mansfield most of his life. He retired from Hartman Spreng Company as Vice President. He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, Venus Lodge, 152 F & AM, Baku Grotto. He was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Leona Frank Mitchell whom he married April 11, 1936, a daughter and son-in-law, Paula and James Spangler of Mansfield; two sons and daughter-in-law, John & Martha Mitchell of Webster Groves, MO and James F. Mitchell of Toledo, OH; six grandchildren, Dr. Kelly & Dr. Jennifer Mitchell of Bowling Green, Traci K. Mitchell of Columbus, Dr. Mark & Ann Spangler of Gibson City, ILL, Todd J. & Kelly Spangler of Columbus, Clifford & Kelsey Mitchell of Webster Groves, MO; three great granddaughters, Emily and Katie Spangler of Gibson City, ILL, Kendall Ann Spangler of Columbus; two sisters, Marjorie Newell of Quincey, CA and Mary Alice Vernon of Bellevue, WA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford & Idessa Mengert Mitchell; one brother, Lee Mitchell and one sister; Rhea Price.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday, June 28, 2000 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH. Thursday June 29, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Cloyd Kress. Military graveside services will be held at Mansfield Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church.
