Pauline Rose Jacobs, 88, died Thursday evening, October 1, 2009, at the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill surrounded by her family. A native of Mansfield, she is survived by her husband, Paul Jacobs of Chapel Hill, NC; a son, Rich Swain of Pittsboro, NC; a daughter, Chris Broach of Graham, NC; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Bertha Charles of Helena, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Freeman.
Pauline loved and cherished her family, church family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who would always make her smile. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Pauline loved to do her crafts and enjoyed bowling.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, with calling one hour prior to the services, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
