Raymond Orlando Baker passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Mansfield, OH. Born on January 19, 1943, to parents, Otis Franklin Baker and Florence L. (Coffey) Baker. Raymond graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, class of 1962. He worked at Richland Controls and retired from Ideal Electric. He was a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker.
Ray enjoyed his favorite hobbies: riding motorcycles, tinkering on cars, home modifications, scenic car drives, dancing with Elaine, camping with the family, spending time with his grandchildren, visiting with his siblings, and social events with the entire Baker family.
Raymond married Elaine (Gaubatz) Baker in 1963. They were married 56 years, until Elaine’s passing in 2020. Survivors include their sons, Jeffrey Baker, Thomas Baker, daughter- in- law, Laura Baker; sisters, Shirlene Kowalski, Brenda Benepe, and sister- in- law, Marlene Baker. Grandchildren, Michael Baker, Christopher Baker, Aaron Baker, Megan Townsend, Sarah (Joshua) Schrader, and Kurtis Baker. Raymond also has several nieces and nephews and great- grandchildren, and friends of the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elaine, his brothers, Virgil, Ronnie, Jerry (infancy), James and Glenn, sisters, Donna, Joyce, Judy, and Beverly.
Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Wappner are providing final arrangements for cremation. He will be placed beside Elaine at Oak Grove Memorial Park, 4108 State Route 42 S. Lexington, OH 44904.

Tribute
Raymond asked that his family and friends remember the simple pleasures in life and to think of him fondly when enjoying some of his favorite things like a “big greasy hamburger”, a cup of coffee, or a milkshake, or going for a scenic drive.
